Words from the Graduate Institute, edited by Stafford Wood

There are moments in seminar when you feel like Archimedes and you’ve finally “Got it!”

You never know when the moment might strike:

“With a minute to go in the Phaedo class, I realised that Socrates doesn’t believe in the immortality of the soul.  At least I concluded so, rightly or wrongly” (Amit sheth, MALA @ Low Residency – Santa Fe).

“Ms. Wood was able to graph, with an exponential function, [Kierkegaard’s] moment of conversion and onward” (Joey Jekel, MALA @ Santa Fe).

“I realized that I have a pretty good grasp of Hume, and pretty much agree with him, despite my inability to articulate this understanding in tutorial” (Benjamin Altman, MALA @ Low Residency – Santa Fe).
