Words from the Graduate Institute, edited by Stafford Wood
We speak our own language by the end of just a few weeks. Johnnies express things differently than other Graduate Students or even the rest of the world. We asked Johnnies to write a sentence only a Johnnie understands:
“Education is more about casting off than obtaining” (William Strange, MALA @ Low Residency – Santa Fe)
“Aquinas may be right” (Ned Walpin, EC @ Santa Fe).
“When I finish my masters, I’m probably going to audit the classes I didn’t get to take” (Stacey Rains, MALA @ Both Campuses)
“Is this word from kalos or agathon?” (Joey Jekel, MALA @ Santa Fe).
“That a Triangle is greater than the sum of its parts – its angles and its line lengths – implies that it possesses an Aristotelian Whole-ness” (Ms. Amelia Wolfe, MALA @ Annapolis).
“Seminar never ends” (Alexander Bram, MALA @ Both Campuses).
“Close reading of a text” (Amit sheth, MALA @ Low Residency – Santa Fe).
“I’m still in the cave but I know the Light of the World is leading me on!” (Jason Knudeson, MALA @ Santa Fe).
