There are moments in seminar when you feel like Archimedes and you’ve finally “Got it!” You never know when the moment might strike:
“Doing geometry without numbers was a major aha! moment” (Joseph Griego, MALA @ Santa Fe).
“In Lobschevski’s 18th theorem: He rotates an angle that, once moved, maintains its original inclination. This ability to move while staying equal was predicted in a previous essay of mine, so when I got to Theorem 18 I was doing backflips” (Ms. Amelia Wolfe, MALA @ Annapolis).
“I finally understood what Lobachevski must have meant by asserting that the sum of the angles of a triangle MAY be less than ??” (Peter Daub, MALA @ Annapolis).
