Morals and messages are passed down from generation to generation through myths in the forms of fairy tales, legends, tall tales, folklore and fables. This series uses fairy tales on some Sunday mornings to enable St. John’s grad students and alumni to discuss the moral lessons contained within short stories that we tell our children. We call it “Church” because it’s a time for us to reflect on our values together. We use fairy tales because they are generally accepted as fantasy, thus allowing us to speak of magic that we all call magic. And they’re awfully short and easy to read in the 15 minutes before seminar.
